- Mummy – Caring, calm, and wise
- Aarav – Age 7, big brother, brave but a bit clumsy
- Myra – Age 5, little sister, smart and super curious
📚 One Cozy Afternoon…
It was a rainy afternoon in Mathura. Mummy was folding laundry. Daddy was on a Zoom call with his office. Aarav and Myra sat on the big, fluffy rug with their tablet, scrolling through KiddyRhymes.com.
“Oooh!” Myra squealed, “Look Aarav! Going on a Bear Hunt! Let’s read it!”
Aarav grinned. “I remember this rhyme! We’re going on a bear hunt… We’re gonna catch a big one...”
The kids acted it out – crawling, sneaking, and jumping.
“But what if…” Aarav paused dramatically, “We actually go on a REAL bear hunt?”
Myra gasped. “Like… outside? In the garden?”
“No… In the forest behind Dadi’s field!” Aarav whispered.
“Let’s do it!”
🚫 “No Bear Hunt, Okay?”
When they told Mummy and Daddy their brilliant idea, both parents laughed nervously.
“A bear hunt?” Daddy chuckled, “Sweetie, bears don’t live here.”
“And even if they did,” Mummy added, “you’re not going out anywhere without us. Understand?”
The kids nodded. “Of course, Mummy!”
But in their minds…
“We’re going on a bear hunt.
We’re gonna catch a big one.
What a beautiful day!
We’re not scared!”
🏃♂️ Secret Sneak-Out
The next morning, while Daddy was watering plants and Mummy was in the kitchen, Aarav packed:
- A magnifying glass
- Two jam sandwiches
- One toy binocular
- And Myra’s teddy bear “Captain Coco”
“Ready?” Aarav whispered.
“Let’s hunt!” Myra replied.
And just like that… they slipped out the backyard gate, following the winding path behind the farm.
🏞️ The Bear Hunt Begins…
🌾 “Uh-oh! Tall wavy grass!”
“We can’t go over it.
We can’t go under it.
Oh no! We’ve got to go through it!”
Swishy swashy! Swishy swashy!
Myra giggled as grass tickled her arms. Aarav tripped and landed in a puddle.
🌊 “Uh-oh! A river!”
“We can’t go over it.
We can’t go under it.
Oh no! We’ve got to swim through it!”
Splash splosh! Splash splosh!
Aarav carried Myra on his back like a superhero. “You’re heavy!” he panted.
“No, you’re just weak!” she teased.
❄️ “Uh-oh! Snowstorm!”
“We can’t go over it.
We can’t go under it.
Oh no! We’ve got to go through it!”
Whoo wooooo! Whoo woooo!
They hugged tight and marched ahead, pretending it was really snowing. Aarav sneezed. “ACHOO! Fake snow is still cold!”
🌲 “Uh-oh! A dark forest!”
“We can’t go over it.
We can’t go under it.
Oh no! We’ve got to go through it!”
Stumble trip! Stumble trip!
A branch tugged Myra’s hair. “OUCH!” she squeaked.
“I don’t like this part…” she whispered.
🐾 “Uh-oh! A cave!”
It was dark. It was cold. It smelled funny.
“Tiptoe… tiptoe…”
“Wait,” Aarav stopped. “What’s that… on the ground?”
Two big furry ears…
One shiny black nose…
TWO GIANT EYES STARING BACK!
ROOOOAAARRR!!!
“AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”
🏃♀️🏃♂️ The Great Escape!
“Back through the forest!
Stumble trip! Stumble trip!”“Back through the snowstorm!
Whoo woooo! Whoo woooo!”“Back through the river!
Splash splosh! Splash splosh!”“Back through the grass!
Swishy swashy! Swishy swashy!”
They didn’t stop until they zoomed back into their backyard, slammed the gate, ran into the house, and jumped onto their bed, pulling the blanket over their heads!
Panting. Giggling. Heart racing.
👨👩👧👦 The Lesson
Just then, Mummy walked in.
“Where were you two?” she asked, arms folded.
Daddy peeked behind her. “Did you just come in from the BACKYARD FOREST?!”
The kids were frozen like popsicles.
“Umm… we went on a bear hunt?” Myra whispered.
“There was a real bear!” Aarav added, eyes wide. “It ROARED!”
Their parents looked at each other in shock.
Mummy kneeled beside them, calm but serious.
“Sweethearts, we love your imagination. But going on an adventure without telling anyone — especially to the forest — is dangerous.”
“You could have gotten hurt, lost… or worse.”
“But we read the rhyme!” Aarav said.
Daddy hugged them tight. “And now you’ve lived the rhyme. But from now on, all adventures happen with us, okay?”
Myra nodded. “Can we still do bear hunts?”
Mummy smiled. “Of course. But next time, we’ll pack real snacks… and maybe binoculars that actually work.”
🐻 That Night…
As they tucked into bed, Aarav whispered:
“Do you think the bear was real?”
Myra clutched Captain Coco. “Maybe. Or maybe he just wanted someone to play with…”
And from far, far away, deep in the forest…
Rooooaaaarrr! (But softer this time.)
The End.
Moral: Imagination is powerful. But safety is even more important.
